Than in 2011, because of personal issues, Spencer stopped writing music , stopped performing, and eventually a year later stopped playing music at all. Feeling overcome with self doubt Spencer gave up on music and in many ways gave up on life.
In 2013 , friend and bandmate Vito Perry ( who had joined Spencer to play bass back in 2007) started jamming again with Spencer and Vito moved back to his natural instrument , The Guitar. Vito, an experienced band front man and songwriter , and Spencer began co-writing songs…and it just started happening. Song after song, after song, next thing you know everything had changed for Spencer emotional and as things picked back up , Vitos father Anthony Perry, veteran drummer, joined the group on percussion and officially The Spencer Nielsen Band was formed ,late summer of 2014. They started working on the album :MellowrottenMusic” . Soon after With the help of a crowdfunding effort thru Indiegogo, SNB was able to presale enough cds and sponsorships to record a full length album in SLC, Utah and mix and master the final product in Oakland , California with producer Matthew Winegar. (MellowRottenMusic) was independent released April 25, 2015 as the Spencer Nielsen Band debut album . It is now available on ITunes for digital download. Also see and hear the song “Better” from the new album on youtube @ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AzRVrB0kEAA
Recently SNB has been joined by veteran bass player Thomas Krug from SLC, Ut bringing a full stage sound to the bands live performance. Follow The Spencer Nielsen Band on facebook for updates and show dates.

Anazella will be at IBT Studios for Ogden’s First Friday art stroll.

Anazella Morrison,

I have been drawing, and painting since I was 5. My biggest inspiration growing up was Bob Ross. We had a black and white TV with two antennas, and I would situate them in order to watch his shows. I mostly used pencil, until my aunt opened a new world to me with oils, I have now been painting by oil for four years.

My dream is to paint in a way that the viewer feels taken into my work and becomes a part of it. Taking them into a state of mind that offers peace, and serenity.morrison_rose

J.R. Simmons

JR Simmons lives in Northern Utah with his wife and 4 boys. He loves spending time with his family and coaching his kids in all of their different sports. He is an avid gamer and is very excited that his boys are picking up on his hobby. JR was recently introduced to triathlons and has since found that he loves the sport. Most nights he can be found either sitting down with a good game or hunched over his iPad writing.

Juli Caldwell

Juli Caldwell has a degree in English from Weber State University. She is the author of Psyched, a YA paranormal novel; a funny little novella called Arms Wide Open; and Beyond Perfection, a latter-day romance. She also freelances as an editor for kicks. She lives near the shores of the Great Salt Lake with her husband, two bookworm daughters, and a dog who sheds too much.

Shantal Sessions

Shantal is married to the love of her life and is the mother of two smart, fun, and talented teen boys, and she spends much of her time trying to help them become wonderful men. She loves outdoor activities, including skiing (snow and water), hiking, camping, boating, exercising, and gardening. She loves to cook from her garden, and to bake cookies, mostly chocolate. Having spent a dozen years as a professional model, the idea for Agency developed in the dressing rooms and on the catwalks in the strange, alternate world of the modeling universe.

Wendy

Knight

Wendy Knight was born and raised in Utah by a wonderful family who spoiled her rotten because she was the baby. Now she spends her time driving her husband crazy with her many eccentricities (no water after five, terror when faced with a live phone call, etcetera, etcetera). She also enjoys chasing her three adorable kids, playing tennis, watching football, reading, and hiking. Camping is also big: her family is slowly working toward a goal of seeing all the National Parks in the U.S.

You can usually find her with at least one Pepsi nearby, wearing ridiculously high heels for whatever the occasion. And if everything works out just right, she will also be writing.

Melissa Taylor shares her personal Art at Imagine Ballet Theatre Studios Oct 4, 2013!

Like in Many artistic areas. one must have learned the technique first before allowing the creativeness to flow. In the creative side of art it just so happens that emotions influence much of the work.  I was a victim of domestic violence for many years and from that experience I have released the hurt, sorrow and anger into my paintings. The ability to share those paintings with others helps me heal.

Dorothy started oil painting in 1968, when a young neighbor, who was attending the U of U as an art student, asked if she would like to learn.  This young artist was Ken Baxter, now a renowned Utah artist.

Some of her Instructors over the years have been Kay Fitzgerald Smith, Eleanor Zimmerman, and Floyd E. Breinholt. Dorothy’s paintings show her love for nature and detail. A variety of mountain scenes and streams give a feeling of serenity.
